The new 2025 LEGO 75399 Star Wars0 Rebel U-Wing Starfighter is average at best. The main problem with this set is its predecessor, which it simply cannot compete with. The Rebel U-Wing Fighter from 2016 was larger and therefore had at least a somewhat usable interior. The shapes could be implemented more authentically, which is particularly noticeable with the engines and the lower cockpit window.

The new Rebel U-Wing Starfighter has a practically unusable interior, the engines taper off much too quickly, and the lower cockpit window leads nowhere.

Additionally, the most important minifigure Dedra Meero is quite a failure in terms of quality - LEGO simply cannot print white on black. Dual-molded legs could have been a solution, but that was probably too expensive for the Danes. At least her hairpiece turned out really well.

Fortunately, there are other positive aspects to note: The shape of the Rebel U-Wing Starfighter is fundamentally well-executed, the wing mechanism is still great fun, and the remaining minifigures are really good. Getting K-2SO Droid back in a play set is simply fantastic.
